Kwale Women Focus Initiative (KWFI) sensitizes and supports communities to take practical action against climate change through sustainable, locally driven solutions. The organization promotes climate-smart agriculture, tree planting, environmental conservation, and alternative income-generating activities to reduce overdependence on rain-fed farming, mining, and environmentally harmful practices such as charcoal burning.
Through farmer training and community awareness forums, women and youth have adopted drought-resistant crops, kitchen gardens, and organic farming methods, improving household food security and incomes. Success stories include women groups now earning from seedling nurseries and eco-friendly enterprises, reducing deforestation while strengthening livelihoods.
By working with KWFI, partners and community members benefit from grassroots networks, transparency, community trust, and measurable impact. Collaboration ensures sustainable environmental practices, economic empowerment, and long-term resilience against climate change across Kwale County.
The organization’s overall mission is to empower women, children and the Youth out of social marginalization, isolation and discrimination through formal and informal education with basic technical/vocational and life skills
