Kwale Women Focus Initiative (KWFI) is a Community Based Organization whose sole aim is to empower the community at large particularly the women, youth and persons living with disability and this was due to the fact that they are the most vulnerable and marginalized in the society.

Established in 2018 and duly registered in 2019 as a CBO under the Department of Social Development, KWFI is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit making organization and operates in 6 Sub Counties of Kwale County.
2018 to 2022, KWFI implemented advocacy strategies that target empowering women in extractive sector to address challenges that affect them as a result of mining activities. Some of the issues addressed included women inclusion in leadership, women economic empowerment, gender based violence and generally women participation in governance. This initiative was being funded by the Law Society of Kenya under the supporting Inclusive Resource Development in East Africa project.
